The Duke of Edinburgh Award
The Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) programme at St Laurence School is open to all students in Years 10 -13.
Year 10: Bronze
The Award is achieved by completing a personal programme of activities in four sections (five if you’re going for Gold) – Volunteering, Physical, Skills, Expedition and for Gold, a Residential.
Students get to choose what they do.
The programme can be full of activities and projects that get students engaged, and along the way pick up experiences, friends and skills that will stay with them for the rest of their life.
To encourage service to individuals and the community, such as first aid, fund raising or sports leading.
To encourage the discovery and development of personal interests, social and practical skills, such as playing a musical instrument, film/video making or fishing.
