Below is a list of some of the support services available to students and also some sites which might be useful for parent/ carers if they would like more information or signposting to services for young people.
On Your Mind (http://www.onyourmind.org.uk/) – links to sources of support for mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Kooth (www.kooth.com) – online counselling and forums for young people commissioned by the NHS trust.
What’s worrying you leaflet – useful information and links to sites provide guidance on a range to issues young people might experience.
School Nursing Service- available for emotional and sexual health advice. Drop in service on a Tuesday lunchtime at school.
School counsellors- St Laurence commissions two days a week of counselling for young people from Relateen. Students can self-refer via the box in Student Reception or speak to their Head/ Assistant Head of House. There is currently a waiting list for this service and students are prioritised based on need.
Here to Help- Drop in advice service for students from 3-4pm on a Thursday in the AEN building. One of the school counsellors is always available as part of this service.
House team- Students can always speak to their Tutor/ Assistant Head of House/ Head of House about any issues which worry them.
Child Bereavement UK – Help and support with grief if you’ve lost someone close to you.
