We are delighted once again with a superb set of GCSE results, particularly in a year when the new, harder GCSEs in English and Maths have been experienced for the first time. 75% of our students achieved at least a grade 4 in both English and Maths (equivalent to the old grade C). The new-style GCSEs have been described as being the most difficult since the ending of O levels in the 1980s, so we are very proud that 37 students (17% of the year group) achieved 8 or more grades of A or A* or equivalent across their subjects. Special mention must go to Clodagh Dowson, who achieved a clean sweep of A* grades in every subject! Impressively, 6 students have achieved the newly introduced top grade of a 9 in both English and Maths, which is reserved for exceptional performance:

  • Sam Ellis
  • Alice Evans
  • Heather Francis
  • Matthew Jolly
  • Lucy Mumford
  • Alden Paige

We have high expectations of all our students and are extremely pleased with their performance across the range of subjects. As well as English and Maths, there have been particularly strong results in Sciences, Dance, German, Graphics and ICT.

Many congratulations to all our students, who have worked really hard, with the support of their teachers and families. We look forward to welcoming many of them into our sixth form shortly.
