We have been informed that on Tuesday of this week there was an incident where two students from St Laurence School were approached by a car containing two adults as they walked home around 3.15pm along Winsley Road just along from the Rising Sun pub. The female passenger in the car tried to encourage the students to get into the car. The students did exactly the right thing and said no and left the area as quickly as possible.
The incident has been reported to the police who are investigating and there will be an increased marked police patrol presence around Bradford on Avon for the next few days after school. During tutorial today, students have been informed of the incident, reminded never to accept lifts from strangers, to walk with other students wherever possible and along lit paths if travelling home when it is dark.
Students should also report any suspicious activities, or concerns they have to either parents or staff at school.
