Y11 Mock Examinations – 18 November 2019

Please follow the link to the Exams page here where you will find the general Y11 Mock exam timetable. Individual student timetables will be issued via tutors early next week. When students aren’t sitting exams they will follow their normal school timetable, however when they have a timetabled exam in the afternoon, students will be free to go home when the exam finishes. You may wish to arrange an alternative pick-up if required for your child, but there will be space provided in the ILC for students who need to remain on site to wait for transport at the end of the normal school day.

Non-uniform Day

We have an additional non-uniform day on Friday 18th October. This is to raise funds towards the Bradford Christmas Lights, which this year will feature a special St Laurence 40th anniversary display. We will collect money in the usual way – £1 per child – preferably to be paid via parent pay but there will also be a cash facility as required.

Just a quick reminder that our St Laurence Extra Clubs are up and running. Students and parents can view details and sign up for clubs via our website page – School Life / After School. Here you will find a Whole School catalogue and department flyers. There are also links to SchoolsBuddy which we use to register students for clubs.

Please ensure that you have read the attached letter with your son and daughter.

Key reminders:

  • Arrive at school for the normal time of 08:35 and go straight to Trinity Hall.
  • Dress appropriately – students will be getting muddy! Old trainers/walking boots. It will be cold, so wear a warm jumper (with a spare warm jumper in your bag, plus hat and gloves) and pack full waterproofs (trousers and jacket). No jeans please, but leggings are fine.
  • Bring a substantial packed lunch. If you are in receipt of FSM, a packed lunch will be provided for you.
  • Students will get back to St Laurence at Approx. 16:30, so will need to make their own way home/arrange lift.

An opportunity for Year 11 students to secure a place on the senior ski trip has arisen. A limited number of places have become available for the Senior Ski trip in February half term (15th February – 23rd February 2020)

This is usually a 6th form trip, however due to some students no longer being at St Laurence, and having the ability to increase capacity in the hotel, 12 places are now available and we are opening up this opportunity to Year 11. We understand this is very late in the day, but do not want to pass up the chance of offering additional students the ability to go.

Please see the introductory letter attached and if you would like any more information, please contact Mr Taylor at bentay@st-laurence.com
