Please ensure that you have read the attached letter with your son and daughter.

Key reminders:

  • Arrive at school for the normal time of 08:35 and go straight to Trinity Hall.
  • Dress appropriately – students will be getting muddy! Old trainers/walking boots. It will be cold, so wear a warm jumper (with a spare warm jumper in your bag, plus hat and gloves) and pack full waterproofs (trousers and jacket). No jeans please, but leggings are fine.
  • Bring a substantial packed lunch. If you are in receipt of FSM, a packed lunch will be provided for you.
  • Students will get back to St Laurence at Approx. 16:30, so will need to make their own way home/arrange lift.

An opportunity for Year 11 students to secure a place on the senior ski trip has arisen. A limited number of places have become available for the Senior Ski trip in February half term (15th February – 23rd February 2020)

This is usually a 6th form trip, however due to some students no longer being at St Laurence, and having the ability to increase capacity in the hotel, 12 places are now available and we are opening up this opportunity to Year 11. We understand this is very late in the day, but do not want to pass up the chance of offering additional students the ability to go.

Please see the introductory letter attached and if you would like any more information, please contact Mr Taylor at

There is a parents meeting on Wednesday 2nd October in Trinity Hall to launch Bronze DofE to Year 9. Space is limited in Trinity Hall, so this meeting is for parents only.

Due to setting-up of the Year 6 Open Evening on 25th September, Homework Club will be cancelled this Wednesday. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Abi Lown

School Librarian

Please note that due to ongoing extensive building work on the new Science Block at St Laurence School there will be extremely limited parking available at the school site and Wiltshire Music Centre car parks (Ashley Road and Churches entrance) for the Open Evening at St Laurence School on Wednesday 25th September 2019. We would encourage visitors who reside in Bradford on Avon, where possible, to use public transport, or walk to the school. All visitors arriving by car, are encouraged to park away from the school and walk for the remainder of the route. Visitors are asked to please respect residents’ access if they are driving.

Everyone is welcome to the Open Evening, and there is no need to book.

Please note that there will be three talks in Trinity Hall at 5.00pm, 5.45pm and 6.30pm, with opportunities for guided tours throughout the evening BUT NO LATER than the last talk at 6.30pm.

If you are unable to attend both a tour and talk within this timescale, please contact the Headteacher’s PA, Sally Hackett (, to book a tour on one of our Open Mornings (Friday 27th September or Friday 11th October).
