Dear Parent,

Further to my email on the 25th August concerning the re-timing of the Southwick/Westwood bus to St Laurence due to the new traffic lights within the Town.

I am pleased to inform you that the removal of the traffic lights on Bradford Town bridge has helped significantly with traffic flow through the town and as a result, the Beeline coach is now arriving too early at the school so I am now pleased to inform you that from Monday 14th September, the Beeline Coach B3111 will revert to its normal timetable.

The new times as follows:

Southwick, Church 0735

Southwick, Hoopers Pool 0737

Wingfield, The Poplars 0745

Wingfield, Frome Rd 0746

Lower Westwood, New Inn 0750

Westwood Turning circle 0753

Westwood Post Office 0755

BOA, Elms Cross 0800

St Laurence School 0825

I’m sure this news will be welcomed by all especially as the pupils are they faced with new school practices and routines at school.

Kind regards,

Simon White

Communities & Neighbourhood

Following a successful start to the school year for our Year 7 and Year 12 students yesterday, we are delighted that all year groups are joining them and welcome them back to school today, Friday 4th September.

Thank you to our hardworking site team, senior team and all staff who have worked tirelessly throughout the last few months to ensure as safe and smooth a return as possible for our school community at St Laurence.

We are delighted to welcome our new Year 7 students to St Laurence. We have lots of exciting activities planned to help them feel welcome and settle into our school community.

We are also very happy to welcome back our Year 12 students into Sixth Form. We hope you all have a wonderful, positive start to this new school year.

Please note the following information regarding the Beeline Bus Services: Paxcroft Mead and Staverton

  1. The bus will have limited capacity
  2. Face coverings are mandatory for all students whilst on the bus, except for those with an exemption for medical reasons (as per current government advice)
  3. As a cashless system is currently unavailable, payment by cash is required and paper tickets will be issued

The bus driver will operate a “load from the back” system; students are unable to choose their seats, this will be dependent on where they get on the bus. Bubbles may be mixed.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming our new Year 7 to school at 8.20am-8.30am on Thursday 3rd September and our Year 12 returning on the same day at 11am. Please ensure that all students, parents and carers familiarise themselves with all the latest information about the procedures for returning to school. This is available to view on this website here.
