Year 5 and 6 Parent and Child tours of the school and Open Evening – September 2019

Year 5 and 6 children and their families are warmly invited to attend our Open Evening on Wednesday 25th September 2019. Talks take place in the Wiltshire Music Centre on the School site at 5pm and 6pm, followed by tours of the School. Everyone is welcome and there is no need to book.

In addition we will be shortly be publishing dates of tours during the school day in September and October. Please can we ask that you make one visit per family. Thank you.

Admissions into Year 7 for September 2020 – How to Apply

For entry into Year 7 for September 2020, parents must complete Wiltshire Council’s secondary school admissions form, in hard copy or electronically, by 31st October 2019. On this form parents are invited to state up to three ranked preferences and, as far as possible, applicants will be offered a place at a school for which they have expressed a preference. St Laurence School’s admission limit for entry into Year 7 is 232 students. Admission into Year 7 is co-ordinated by a Transition coordinator.

Due to significant rising trends we strongly recommend that parents place St Laurence School as their “first preference” and apply on time.

Please refer to the school’s Admission Policy for criteria applied in the event of oversubscription. Students with statements of Special Educational Needs are required to be admitted to the school named on their statement. See the downloads section at the foot of the page for the Admissions Policy.

Admissions into Other Year Groups

The St Laurence School admission policy applies solely to applications for places at St Laurence School. As an Academy St Laurence School acts as its own admission authority, however the process is coordinated by the Local Authority on the School’s behalf. The Governing Body is responsible for determining the procedures and policies.

Parents who wish to apply for their child to enter the school other than in the September of Year 7 should contact the Headteacher’s PA (01225 309506) in the first instance. Please use the email link below.

As an Academy St Laurence School acts as its own admissions authority. The Governing Body is responsible for determining the procedures and policies.

The admission policy of St Laurence School is, while there are adequate places, to offer a place to all applicants irrespective of gender, religion, ethnicity or country of origin, disability or academic ability. This is subject to St Laurence school being able to meet the reasonable, specific needs of the child, within the resources available.

The School participates in the Local Authority’s Fair Access Protocol.
