Admissions into Year 7 for September 2019 – How to Apply

For entry into Year 7, parents must complete Wiltshire Council’s secondary school admissions form, in hard copy or electronically, by 31st October 2018. On this form parents are invited to state up to three ranked preferences and, as far as possible, applicants will be offered a place at a school for which they have expressed a preference. St Laurence School’s admission limit for entry into Year 7 is 232 students. Admission into Year 7 is co-ordinated by a Transition coordinator.

Copies of the application form can be obtained from Wiltshire Council’s Admissions Team at County Hall

Due to significant rising trends we strongly recommend that parents place St Laurence School as their “first preference” and apply on time.

Please refer to the school’s Admission Policy for criteria applied in the event of oversubscription. Students with statements of Special Educational Needs are required to be admitted to the school named on their statement.

Year 5 Parent and Child Visits 2019

For children who are currently in Year 5, families have up until 31st October 2019 to make their secondary school application. Our Open Evening will be held in September 2019, and is a great way to see our staff and many students displaying what we do so well here at St Laurence. There will also be two opportunities during the evening to hear more about the school’s ethos and approach in the Headteacher’s speech. There is no need to book for this evening.

Year 5 Parent and Child tours of the school

To support our Open evening, we are also able to offer tours of the School during the day (between 8.45am and 11am) to Year 5 children and their parents on the following dates this academic year:

Term 5 2019 – Friday 26th April and 10th May

Term 6 2019 – Friday 14th June and Friday 12th July

Term 1 of Year 6 – TBC

Please can we ask that you make one visit per family. Thank you.

Please contact Sally Hackett, Headteacher’s PA (details below) to book a tour.
